Help with SEVERE nasal congestion?!
Question: Help with SEVERE nasal congestion!?
I have turbinate hypertrophy and a deviated septum along with chronic sinusitis!. I am waiting on the results of my CT Scan right now before I can go back to the Ear, Nose & Throat Doctor on Tuesday, when I hope he will suggest a procedure for me!. However, last night my congestion spiked, and has gotten worse than it has ever been in awhile!. I haven't been able to sleep over an hour all night, and I have really strong and painful sinus pressure, and my nasal passages are basically swollen shut today!.
Do you know any home remedies or OTC drugs to somehow temporarily aid with swelling in the nasal passages!? (For the time being)
I am absolutely miserable and feel like there's really nothing I can do right now until my doctor's appointment, and he can't get me in any sooner!.
(and PLEASE do NOT suggest Afrin nasal spray!. I use it and it has gotten me into this situation in the first place!.)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try a saline nasal rinse like NeilMed Sinus Rinse!. It's OTC, safe, and it helps greatly with congestion!. I have had several bad sinus infections and this stuff will wash out tons of nasty stuff from your head!. You are basically blasting your sinus' with warm water and it does a great job of removing mucus and relieving pressure!.
Even when I'm not sick the rinse helps keep my chronic throat phlegm issues under control!. This was recommended to me by an ENT!. But if your sinus' are swollen shut you should proceed very gently!. Be careful and good luck! I know that is just terrible!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you have vicks vapor rub, go into the bathroom after you apply it to your chest, and just below your nose!. turn the sink on and have a towel over your head!. The steam should help!. And give you some reliefWww@Answer-Health@Com
