Should I go to urgent care for impetigo?!

Question: Should I go to urgent care for impetigo!?
I have what I'm pretty sure is a case of impetigo on the outside of one of my nostrils!. It's Friday afternoon so I won't be able to even call in for an appointment with my general practitioner until Monday, and probably won't get an appointment until later in the week!. Is impetigo a serious enough infection for me to go to urgent care to get antibiotics!? The other issue is that I'm pregnant, but it doesn't seem any more dangerous for a pregnant person than a non-pregnant person!. Thoughts!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
You should get on antibiotics!. You basically have a staph infection that is contagious until it turns scabby!. You really should call and talk to your doctor or go to the urgent care!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

You could call your doctors on-call service to at least have him/her talk to you on the phone to advise you what to do, since you are pregnant!. Impetigo is caused by Staph aureus or Strep pyogenes (cause of strep throat )!. Occasionally their are complications to impetigo such as cellulitis which can be serious!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

NEOSPORIN-----
This will kill impetigo in a couple of days But call your health care provider to be sure this wont harm your baby can get this at any drug store OTC for around $2!.85 or so but have used just the other day for kids at school!. Most likely is since this does attack the face all over if not treated!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My daughter has eczema and due to all the cracks in her skin she gets impetigo alot!. Yes you need to go asap and get antibiotics for 2 reasons!. 1!. It's extremely contagious!. 2!. It spreads to other parts of the body fast!. Plus don't mess around with stuff when your pregnant!. So good luck! Hope you feel better soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
