Doctor believes that i may have angina, information please?!

Question: Doctor believes that i may have angina, information please!?
i came back from the doctor today!. another ekg, which came out fine!. My blood pressure was high, 180 over 91, which went up from 134 over seventy something i believe!.

He told me that he thinks it may be angina, but because of my age, he wants to try me on anti inflamatory medications to see if it is just costochondritis!. I have a follow up in a week, and if i still have the chest pain then he believes it will be angina!.

Is this serious!? information about it would be helpful!. and if it turns out that he's right and i do have angina, does that mean i have coronary heart disease!? what is the prognosis of that!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Glad everything went well at the doctors and I am glad to hear he did an EKG and that was normal!.
Angina Pectoris is a squeezing or crushing pain caused by a blockage of one of the arteries which leads to the heart!. Simple--just like the doctor told you, it is coronary artery disease!. If it continues and the doctor feels warrant he will send you to a cardiologist or you will have a halter monitor put on, or maybe have a stress test along with x-rays of your heart done before and after the stress test!.
Your doctor is suspecting that you have costochondritis which is the inflammation of the muscles between the rib cage and the breast bone, sounds right to me!. I've had this many times in my days! I know how scary it can be!.
Did he give you any type of medicine to take to bring down the swelling!?
You are going to be fine, stop worrying about everything, otherwise you will end up with a heart attack!!!! LOLWww@Answer-Health@Com

Glad you went to the doctor!. I am sure you will be fine!. Sounds like he knows what he is doing!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your BP could very well have been high due to stress over the whole situation!.

Considering the cardiogram was normal, and based on what I have just read on costochondritis, it seems possible!. From Mayoclinic!.com :

"Costochondritis is an inflammation of the cartilage that connects a rib to the breastbone (sternum)!. It causes sharp pain in the costosternal joint
