I know that he needs surgery to get it out but how will the surgery affect him so late in life.
Answers:
They will probably remove it either laporscopic or an open (where they cut open and pull it out) since it is so enlarge they might have to do the open. On the other hand, is he having any problems related to this? If not at his age I would figure they might just say the risks of surgery might out wiegh the benifts of having it out. But if it is having problems get it out. He'll stay a couple days in the hospital.
