my exboyfriend was checked into a mental hospital because of sucide thoughts!. Do they give blood test before they put someone in rehab, and if so would you be able to find an std even if they arent looking for it!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Please call the facility a psychiatric hospital!. I'm not sure what rehab has to do with this!. Blood draws are a routine part of admissions and in-patient stays!. Typical of what's looked for are active disease and serum drug levels!. So your ex- may very well be tested for communicable disease!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
no, you have to be looking for stds in order to find them on blood tests!. the only stds that are diagnosed by blood test are HIV, hepatitis B, and syphilis!. there is a possibility that they could have tested him for syphilis, because untreated syphilis can cause altered mental status (very rare and only many years after getting infected)!. if he is in a hospital, though, he can ask to be tested for anything and everything!. they might do it or they might not!.
