What are the side effects of no thyroid and no synthroid?!
Question: What are the side effects of no thyroid and no synthroid!?
I recently was diagnosed with papillary carcinoma!. I've had two thyroid surgeries since with complete thyroidectomy and removal of one parathyroid!. I am functioning on no thyroid and off my synthroid in preparation for radioactive idodine treatment !.!.!.which requires me to be completely off the synthroid!. I also have mitral valve prolapse with regurgitation and am hoping none of this has an effect on my heart!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Thyroid hormone controls your metabolism!. Without thyroid or synthroid, your heart rate with decrease and you could develop weight gain!. I don't think that it will effect your heart function with the mitral valve prolapse except fro a slowere heart rate (you may also feel colder and tired alot of the time)!. I don't think going without synthroid will affect your heart condition especially since you are required to be off synthroid for the procedure!. As long as you are under the treatment of a doctor, don't worry!.
