I see from your Q&A that you're 13!.

At your age the chances of breast cancer are as close to zero as makes no difference!. It's mainly a disease of ageing - 80% of those diagnosed are over 50, it's rare in women under 40 and almost unheard of in under 25s!.

The American Cancer Society and other cancer organisations recommend that women start breast self-examination at the age of 20!.

Most breast lumps, even in women over 50, aren't cancerous!. Your breasts are still growing and developing, and any changes are almost certainly hormonal!.

Yes, you should stop worrying about breast cancer at your age!. Talk to your mother about this, she should be able to reassure you!. If you feel you can't talk to her, talk to your school nurse - she will be used to questions like this and will take you seriously and be able to reassure youWww@Answer-Health@Com

Lumps can be benign or malignant - fibrous cysts or types of tumors - Definately visit your physician, and complete the mammogram!.!.!.!. If it is determined that the area is "suspicious" a biopsy will be performed to determine if the cells are in fact cancerous!. There is no way you can tell if it is cancer or a lump - but please visit your physician so that tests can be performed - if it is a fibrous cyst, cutting out caffine and smoking may decrease the size!.!.!.!. But is no substitute for medical attention!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My mom was just diagnosed with breast cancer a few weeks ago, and is going through surgery asap!. It's not just located in one area, so it's really scary!. She told me that she had pain in her breast, and then she felt a lump an she hadn't had her 2008 mammogram!. She went into the Doc and the Doctor after feeling the same lump took a needle biopsy to determine whether it was cancerous or benign!. To start this has some information to be ready with for your Doctor http://www!.breastcancer!.org/symptoms/tes!.!.!. I suggest you go to a Physician that can do a breast exam, and biopsy if need be!. Good luck, and God Speed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Oh, wow!.!.!.no, I cannot tell you that you should stop worrying!. I have no idea of what you mean by "just a lump" since breast cancer presents itself (i!.e!. feels like) "just a lump"!!! PLEASE IMMEDIATELY ON MONDAY make an appointment with your family doctor or Planned Parenthood (they offer all types of health care, not just GYN/OB at really inexpensive prices; even for free!) and have them examine you! Doctors cannot tell if a lump is "just a lump" until they examine you and you undoubtedly will have to have a mammogram - now, please, PLEASE!.!.!.DON'T BE SCARED OF A MAMMOGRAM!. Yes, they are a little uncomfortable BUT IT'S NOTHING!! Seriously!! I had my first one this year (I am 45) and it was fine! It was over very quickly and it just felt like someone squeezing my breast; sort of hard, yes!.!.!.but still not anything to be concerned about as far as pain! And the peace of mind, knowing that you are OK, will far and away be worth it!. SERIOUSLY DON'T MESS WITH THIS!.!.!.SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY!. I don't mean to "yell" but I am extremely concerned and I don't even know you! Chances are!.!.!.you are right!.!.!.it is benign (i!.e!. not cancerous) but until you are examined there is no way to tell! It probably is NOT cancer!.!.!.but then again!.!.!.it could be!. So why not do yourself (and all of your loved ones) a favor and be checked medically!? I congratulate you too on having found it; I hope it was through your monthly self-exam (and if it wasn't, please ask the DOCTOR THAT YOU WILL SEE NEXT WEEK - right!?!? - how to perform a self-exam each month)!. Don't fool around with this!. Just get checked and I bet within 5 days you will be vastly relieved! I will say a little prayer for you, that you are smart and courageous and that you follow up on this immediately!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would definitely go see a doctor and allow them to run tests!. Even if a doctor says everything is fine, go and get a second or even a third opinion!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

GO to your dr!. immediately and get checked out!. Seriously!. Not to scare you or anything but get there!. Have it checked out and if not get a second opinion!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you have a lump, then it very well could be cancer!. Please go see a doctor first thing tomorrow!
