Should a cod man programmable shunt be MR I'd ?!

Question:

Should a cod man programmable shunt be MR I'd ?

Answers:

As you are probably already aware, the Codman Programmable Shunt has a pressure differential valve whose resistance can be altered using a magnet field transmitted through the skin.

These two sentence is what I found, I will provide links below:
"It should be noted that strong magnetic fields such as encountered in MRI scanners can change this valves settings". "After having an MRI you should have the setting checked to make sure the setting wasn't changed during an MRI."

I think this is a question best answered by the physician. Especially if it can change the valve settings, but it does not say you cannot have a MRI, just that the shunt needs to be checked afterwards to ensure the settings have not changed.
