Question: Can a person develop and allergy to cigarettes after smoking for 6 years!?
I've been a chain smoker for 6 years!.!.!. i managed to quit for about 2 weeks!.!.!. then went back to smoking!. Since then- last thursday- i have had a bad rash on my legs!.!.!. it looks like hives!. i went to the hospital!.!. they said it was hives and don't know what the allergen is!. they gave me meds to get rid of it!.!.!. annnnd now that i'm off the prednisone my rash is coming back!. its only on my legs though- that's what perplexes me!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Allergic reactions can happen at any time, even with a history of constant exposure to a substance!. There are plenty of different chemicals in cigarettes that your body may have suddenly developed a hard time coping with!. It could also be something else in your environment causing this reaction!. I don't think it's smoking coz i never heard of this allergie!.!.!.and um a heavy smoker for 7 years now!.!.!.and it never happened to me or to one of my friends!.!.!.although,it can be side effects of other smokes !.!.but not cigarettes if u know wut i mean!.!.!.and maybe u just need to change the brand!.!.!.hope u get well!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
You've probably got nicotine poisoning!. After a break from smoking your body has to build up tolerance to nicotine again!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
