Arterial Blood Gas Interpretation. Help!?!

Question: Arterial Blood Gas Interpretation!. Help!!?
I'm wondering what would be the interpretation for the following ABG results:

pH = 7!.325
PCO2 = 43!.6 Terr
PO2 = 67!.3%
HCO3 = 22!.1 mEq/L

pH = 7!.369
PCO2 = 41!.2 Terr
PO2 = 101!.4%
HCO3 = 23!.2 mEq/L

The PCO2 and the HCO3 are on the normal range!. But the pH are acidotic!.
These results came from the same patient and was taken on the same day!. The first one was taken just 3 hours before the 2nd one!. Notice that the PO2 was first hypoxemic, then on the 2nd result, it became hyperoxemic!.
The patient is on mechanical ventilator via ET tube!. He had just undergone chest tube thoracostomy!.
Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
The first one is uncompensated metabolic acidosis with hypoxia!. The 2nd ABG has compensated since the last one and the values are withing normal range!. It also appears that the CO2 has lowered in value to help bring the pH out of acidosis!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
