Question: Doctors don't believe my siezures!.!.!.HELP!!?
I've been having horrible pressure in my head with pounding and having some type of seizures where my hands tense up and my face makes contortions and sometimes I vocalize!. I loose consciousness!. Sometimes I can hear during these episodes it goes in and out!. Then I wake up confused but I can talk!. The docs in the ER said it couldn't be a seizure because I could talk after!. But I read there are kinds where you can!. They took blood, did a CT and sent me home!. I was having up to 3 an hour!. These episodes happen about once every week and a half!. I need hapl!. Anyone know what these could be!? I had one normal EEG, but it wasn't during an episode!. I have been very sick!. I have abnormal RA factors and some type of autoimmune stuff showing in my blood!. They are ignoring everything!.
I also had arrhythmia when I was having these seizures!. My potassium was also very low!. They still sent me home, said I was faking or it was nothing!.
HELP ME!.
PS- I also noticed laying down seems to make them come on faster!. I also have a lot of visual disturbances!. Specks, tunnel vision, loss of right side Peripheral (when it happens)!. I can also feel them come on!. I also loose my thinking ability!. I get slow and word recall is very very slow!. After the episodes my speech is slurred for days!. My right side seems slightly paralyzed!.

First of all you need to find another Primary Care Physician who will treat you with a lot more respect and also send you to a specialist!. A Neurologist will give you a neurological workup(exam) and take you through a battery of tests and possibly admit you to the hospital for extended tests!. I've been through this!. I have Petit Mal seizures, but for a while a few years back I started having Grand Mal seizures!. The only way they could figure out what was going on was to admit me to the hospital hook me up to an EEG and watch me carefully!. If I had a seizure they would see right away!. They also had a monitor in the room which was hooked up out at the Nurses Station!. So they had me covered on all sides!.

It sounds like you need to go through the same kind of test I went through at the hospital!. That will probably be the only way to let them see the seizures as they occur!.

I agree with you!. You don't need a shrink!. You need medical help as soon as possible before you get hurt during these seizures!.

You will be in my prayers!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all you need to stop relying on the ER because they are primarily set up to treat trauma and injuries!.

You have a chronic condition of some sort and require a family doctor who can follow up with you, rule some things out, and refer you to a specialist if necessary!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Forget what the ER dr!. said and by all means get another primary Dr!. You have to trust yourself!! Find a dr!. that will do a "sleep study" EEG or a sleep deprivation EEG!. These tests may show more!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

a lot of people can talk after the seizure is over- what kind of idiots are in that ER anyway!? sounds nuts to me!. you will never convince them that you are having a seizure unless it is in front of them, while you are hooked up to an eeg machine!. you need to talk to your family doctor, and maybe he can refer you to someone who specializes in this sort of thing!. then they will put you in the hospital, and try and bring on a seizure by using different stimuli, and then you will get the help you need!. good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I probably can't help, but I found out that when I laid down at night, my reflux would trigger an asthmatic seizure with dizziness, dry throat, frequent urination, tremors, etc!. When I went to the dr he thought it was all in my head and I had to figure this all out!. Now I sleep in a chair instead of a bed and take medicine for my reflux!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
