Question about cancer and a cure?!

Question: Question about cancer and a cure!?
SO seems how we don't have a cure for cancer couldn't we find out how to "make" or "create" cancer in someone and then find the cure for it by knowing a little bit more on how it works!? If that makes sense!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

As someone above mentions, cancer is not a single disease, it's hundreds, thousands!. Each cancer of each cell type is different, and some cells have dozens of different subtypes!. Different sets of mutations in the same types of cells can produce different cancers as well!.

As for creating a tumor, there's not really any need too!. There's no shortage of people with it, beyond that, cancer cells have a useful property!. They're immortal, you can grow as many of them as you like in a test tube and work on them to your heart's content!. Look up the HeLa Cervical Cancer cell line if you have a moment, it's one of the most famous!.

And essentially, that's what we do!. We take the cells, and work on them in a lab to figure out what biochemistry has changed, what pieces of DNA are different, and how the cells act differently!. When we know how they're different, we devise ways to attack these differences selectively, to hit the cancer cells in the body while leaving the rest of the body unmolested!.

And as another user mentions, many, many cancers have an incredible success rate today, thanks to such things as early detection, vaccines, and new treatments!. Almost all the breast cancers are very treatable if you catch them correctly!. But part of the problem is that once cancer has happened in a body, it's easy for it to come back!. But there are many that can essentially be removed, though some of the treatments are unpleasant!.

It's a good thought!. There are many tens of thousands of scientists, doctors and grad students laboring around the world using essentially that strategy, though in a test tube!. Giving someone cancer to do tests on it would be pretty horribly unethical when we can do it in rodents, or in test tubes much cheaper and safely, with better results!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i know they have not yet found a cure for all cancers but this is what an oncology nurse told me last year when i had throat cancer,i was so surprised at the amount of people with cancer going for treatment in the oncology dept, and i said to her there are so many people with cancer is it on the increase!? she said the reason we are now seeing so many people with it is because we can control and cure a lot of it these days,i think she is right too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
