Question: Whats it like to have a seizure!?
Im just curious, you can still think while having one right!? Do you know your having a seizure, or realize it when its over!? You just cant control your body right!? these are just a few questions Ive been wondering!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all there are many different types of seizures!. The most common known is the Grand mal, this effects the entire body!.
With a grand mal seizure, your brain slows down!. You start thinking funny!. Its like being awake in a dream, after the seizure you will remember some bits of the preseizure time but in segments~ the brain doesn't retain all of the 'time' info it processd b4 having the seizure!.
Like one time when I was at work (I worked for an airline company on the ticket counter) and I started going into Grandmal seizure mode~
I stood at the computer typeing and typeing and typeing and typeing!.
When my friends looked over all she saw on the screen was:
'lskdjfeidvneogneio23ijasldkvnsdnflwke!.!.!.
it covered the entire moniter screen!
She knew she had to take over my passenger and get me off the counter!. So she took me in the back room and sat me down, and called my family to come and get me!. Meanwhile in my brain, im thinking "i need to be out on the counter doing my job" so what do i do!.!.!.go right back out there and call the next passenger up to my position~ my friend had to sit with me so i would stay in the backroom untill family came!. You just dont think clearly when your about to have a seizure~ After that I have no memory of being picked up at work~ I only know i woke up at home hours later!.
After having a seizure it takes along time to really come to your sences clearly~ it feels like being on strong pain meds or somthing!.
Its hard to describe all this~
basically what a seizure is is your brain shuts down for a second~ and restarts!. At least that was how I was told in simple terms!.

You are right you are not able to control your body during the grandmal, the petimal your body doesnt go into convolshions like the GM!.

Hi!. I have absence seizures before, which is when it can appear to others that the person is daydreaming or distracted!. However, during the absence seizure the a person cannot be woken up since they are temporarily unconscious!.
It's weird!. It's like I'm awake and asleep at the same time!. Like when your just about to wake up and you see light behind your eyes, but your not focused enough to open your eyes or get out of bed!. Or like when your having a nightmare and you really want to wake up but you can't and it's unbelievably frustrating and scary but at least with the absence seizure I don't have tremors!.
But the last time I had a seizure was when I had Scarlet Fever!. I usually have them whenever I get a seriously high temperature, which is very rare for me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Having a seizure is as individual as the person having it!. I still know what's going on around me yet responding is impossible!. Depending on the severity of the seizure many times I'm awake through the whole episode!. As far as thinking yes only most times it's only am I going to survive this one!? I do and hope my that my next one will be the same!. It has been over three years since my last gran mal seizure but my petite mals remind me to always take medication!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Its like your body is paralyzed but moving!. If you are conscious you may have random thoughts such as, "where am I!?" but you have absolutely no control at all!. Then there are times you black out and don't remember anything about having a seizure but you will feel drained!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
