I know that Multiple Personality Disorder means you have Multiple Personalities, but what causes MPD and How many different personalities can you have!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

MPD is almost always caused by severe trauma or abuse as a very young child!. You can have as few as one other personality!. There is no upper limit, most people have 10 or less, numbers over 20 are rarer!. There have been reports of hundreds, although i'm not sure how true they are!. -NebWww@Answer-Health@Com
You could Goggle this question and get some answers!. Have you ever seen the movie "Sybil"!? I'm not sure if I spelled it correctly!. From what little I have read about this disorder it sometimes stems from being abused, sexually or in other ways, as a child!. The many personalities are an escape!. You go into another personality so you do not feel what is happening to you!. It is really complex and a person can have many personalities!. Sybil is a true story and she had at least five!. Joanne Woodward and Sally Fields gave excellent performances and I believe one of them won an Oscar!. Our brain is awesome in what it can do to help us!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
