I'm in the final stages, and mine has grown almost immune to chemo!. Thing is there are lots of types of lymphoma and many of them are curable, especially if caught early!. What I'm saying here is based on my own experience, I'm not a doctor - this is from the eyes of a 15 year old so if your doctor tells you otherwise, he is right!.

I didn't get radio treatment, I've had chemo and surgery!. They only use radio (at least on the one I have) if they catch it early on, which for me wasn't the case!.

The first time round the chemo I got was relatively mild and I kept my hair, but when it relapsed I had more intensive chemo and the hair went!. It came back for a while between treatments and it felt like baby hair!.

They'll also do tests to see if it hodgkins or non-hodgkins (that affects the treatment) and to find if it is high grade (quick growing) or low grade (slow growing)!. For some types, they don't even treat it until you get symptoms - but mine isn't that type!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hey mate!. If you have stage 1 lymphoma you may just be treated with radiotherapy!. You will lose hair in the area of the body you get radiotherapy to!. If you're like the majority of lymphoma patients you will have it either to your neck, armpits, chest or groin!. If you have it in the neck you may lose a little hair from the bottom of your head, and radiation to the armpit will make you lose your hair there, and to the groin!.!.!. !.well you get the picture!.

If however you have a later stage you will probably have to have chemo!. If you have Hodgkin's Lymphoma you may have ABVD or MOPP which both make your hair fall out (everyone is different though - i lost all mine with ABVD but others kept it) If you have Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma you may have CHOP-R which makes you lose your hair too (in most cases)

Seriously it's not that bad losing your hair, and it grows back really quickly!!!

GOOD LUCK!! I hope you don't have it!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi,
Well hopefully you don't have it but I think it all depends on what type of lymphoma you may have!. Have you had any tests yet!? From what I've ready radiation is a common therapy for lymphoma but I think chemotherapy is also an option!. Radiation shouldn't cause you to lose your hair, where as most patients who receive chemotherapy do lose their hair!.
Good luck honey! xoWww@Answer-Health@Com

While radiation can be used to treat lymphoma, it is often not used by itself and rather is combined with some form of chemotherapy!. Radiation doesn't produce hair loss, but chemotherapy may!. Although that is really the least of the problems it causes!. Hair will eventually grow back once chemotherapy is completed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
