Is Parkinson's Disease hereditary?!
Question: Is Parkinson's Disease hereditary!?
I just wondered because my dad is going to get screened and tested today for it because of his tremors and inability to move his legs correctly!.
I have tremors too!. I'm 19 and I've always had shakey hands like him only not quite as bad!.
I just wondered if there is a possibility I could have it and not know!? or be able to get it!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well from what I have read, Parkinson's Disease is not hereditary!. Now, you do have a slightly higher chance of getting it if someone in your family has it, but it is not passed from generation to generation!.
My only advice for you is that if your father's test comes back positive for PD, then you should probably be tested too!. I mean, while the chances of getting PD are very slim, I would still get tested just to make sure!. Especially since you said you are having tremors and stuff!.
I hope this helps! Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
