Who has psoriasis? skin problem?!
Question: Who has psoriasis!? skin problem!?
i have it and have had it since age of 17!
i have tried everything topical treatments lotions creams ect!
i have also used uvb at the local hospital all of which didnt make a difference!
the only cream that helped in anyway was dovabet but its really greasy and makes a mess of your cloths so i tend to not use it!
has anyone got any ideas on what helps them or what they use and find good!?

natural sun light helps alot
i sun bathed for half an hour last summer when we actually did have a nice summer and where the sun made my psoriasis dissapere completley but then it came back again after a week or so
the uvb beds at hospital didnt work for me though as they arnt intense as much as the natural sun lightWww@Answer-Health@Com

You have my sympathy i have had psoriasis for years its very hard to live with and finding a way of controling it is nigh on impossible the best i have ever been able to do is get rid of the flaking but have never been able to clear up the redness, its embarrasing and painful!. Dovobet works well for me and i tend to use it on my arms and hands to control the obvious patch's!.
I gave up dairy products and i think that has helped but still not cured it!.
I will watch this with interest to see if anyone has good ideas!.

This question caught my eye - I don't have psoriasis, but I was in hospital last year and the woman in the opposite bed suffered dreadfully from it, as well has her entire family!.
She said the only relief she had was when she broke an arm and her arm was in plaster for six weeks - it stayed clear for about 6 months!. I've been intrigued by that - what on earth could plaster of paris do that other treatments have failed!?
Anyway, my sympathies - I have other problems which are distressing too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i found dovobet great but its expensive,but an old lady came in to my shop one day and gave me evening primrose cream and that worked wonders ive had psoriasis since i was 7 years old and its all over my body but when i used this cream i found that the uvb treatment couldnt clear it on my knees and elbows but the evening primrose cream did and its cheap to buy,hope this is of help to you as i know how you feel!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I get psoriasis on my scalp!. My doctor says the only way to cure it is to have a stress free life but as I have had it since I was a tot I,m not sure this is the answer!
Whenever the patches appear i treat them quickly and effectively with a few days application of betacap which I get on prescription!. This is a non greasy steroid lotion!. Prior to this i used to use a special shampoo that left me with sore patches!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

my husband has it!. Same as you from 17!!
He uses all sorts of lotions/creams (which usually smell bad) most of which ease the symptoms but don't cure it!. His usually gets a lot better when he goes out in the sun (luckily we live abroad in a hot climate), but he can't wear sun block so then he risks sun burn!.!.!.!.!.!. The other thing he finds is that it gets worse when he's stressed!? If you find any good treatments let us know!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i have it on my scalp and tummy!.!.!. for my scalp i just use that t-gel which is ok but it is still often itchy!. on my tummy i have been given by my doctor some cream which has steroids in it!. when it is itchy i do use it, but because i know it has steroids in i try to minimise my usage!. like you i'm not sure what else can be done about it!. sunbeds and sunshine do help but not completely!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
