Answers:
unfortunately i come from a family of experts when it comes to IBS!. (we call it ibs as a joke, but its a common word for us haha) But!.!. funny you should ask, i got one of those pamphlet things on it the other day out of curiosity from the pharmacy and heres what it says:

IBS is apattern of symptoms that tend to occur together in the intestines!. normally, muscles that form the outer layer of the intestines work to push digested food through the intestines!. in a person with IBS, the muscles may tighten too hard or not enough, which can cause the digested food to move either too quickly or too slowly through the intestiness!. It occurs more often in women, and about half of people with the condition will be diagnosed by 35!.

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS:
*abdominal pain, bloating, or discomfort
*gas
*nausea
*diarrhea, constipation, or both
*feeling a strong urge to have a bowel movement
*mucus in the stool
*feeling like you still need to have a bowel movement after you have already had one
*change in the frequency or consistency of stools
*abdominal ain and cramping that may go away after a BM

EXACT CAUSE IS NOT CLEAR BUT SYMPTOMS WORSENED BY:
*depression and anxiety
*celiac disease (inability to digest gluten from wheat, barley, or rye
*eating large meals
*bloating
*chocolate, airy products, or alcohol
*caffeine from coffee, tea, or soda

TREATMENT:
DIETARY CHANGES:
*increasing fiber may help decrease constipation and spasms
*avoiding foods such as beans, cabbage, and raw broccoli may help decrease bloating
*drinking 6-8 glasses of H2O daily, stay away from carbonated bev's
*eating smaller meals more often
*avoiding chewing gum and eating too quickly

PRESCRIPTION MEDS:
meds are available to decrease symptoms such as spasms, constipation, or diarrhea!.

yeah thats pretty much it!.!.!. anyway!.!.!. i notice whenever i eat anything greasy i get it!. i dont have a BM for a long time, and then will get so sick out of nowhere!. it was bad when i was pregnant!! LOL!.!. but stay away from really greasy foods!. i always dab my pizza before i eat it, which helps tremendously! good luck - oh and use immodium multi symptoms chewables!. they are awesome!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Irritable Bowel Syndrome is tha LABEL doctors give to patients with chronic bowel problems (functional bowel disorders) when they CANNOT determine the actual Diagnosis - that is, they cannot determine the actual cause!.

No competent doctor (they are rare!) will use the IBS label before ruling out, with appropriate testing, known causes of bowel dysfunction such as Celiac Disease, Food Allergies (immediate and delayed types), heavy metal toxicities, Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), Hypochlorhydria, and Intestinal Dysbiosis!. Sadly, so few medical doctors are trained in these functional causes of bowel dysfunction that most patients just get the "easy" IBS label rather than a real diagnosis!.

Best wishes and good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a disorder of the intestines!. It causes belly pain, cramping or bloating, and diarrhea or constipation!. Irritable bowel syndrome is a long-term problem, but there are things you can do to reduce your symptoms!.
I don't know what the symptoms are but you can search it on the internet!.
Looking at the source that I went to would probably explain a lot more on IBS!. Hope that helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

irritable bowel syndrome is when you get gas, diarrhea, constipation, pain in your intestines, etc!. but doctors can't find a cause!. But, I will tell you this- I was thought to have this at one point, but I went to a gasteroenterologist (sp!?) and was given a colonoscopy and they did a biopsy and I was found to have lymphocytic colitis and they are finding more and more people have that (the cases that they once thought were IBS)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your poo never really is hard!. It is not quite the runs, but it is soft!. I have to take 1 Imodium about every other day so that it isn't so soft!. I go through a lot of flush wipes!. I even carry them in my purse so that if I need them have them!. I had tests done and my doctor said that I would have to take something the rest of my life!. I have also taken Metamucil powder and Metamucil wafers and they have worked!. The wafers are the best tasting!. The doctor told me that Metamucil is a neutralizer and it works both ways to loosen and to help harden the poo!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

it's basically when your digestive system is having trouble moving your bodies waste!. It can clog up, like a gutter with leaves in it, except imagine that in your large intestine!. I don't have it, but I've had something similar to it!. it's a sharp, stinging pain!. like getting stabbed somewhere near the belly button!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

ugh!. it's when your intestines are clogging and moving matter along in clumps!. ew!. And it hurts throughout your lower stomach- moving sharp pains!. not bad ones, just sharp and irritating!. oh and i seem to remember (i had it when i was fifteen) that it had to do with drinking too much coffee and not enough water

EDIT: okay i just read the guy above me- maybe my doc was being lazy! lol i never thought of that, but honestly, he never ran any tests, he just asked me a buncha questions about my tummy aches and said knowingly that that's what it was!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

idkk!.
couldnt u just google it!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
