Answers:
Yes it can be present anywhere in the neck since there are lymph nodes in your neck!.

Lymphoma is a type of cancer involving cells of the immune system, called lymphocytes!.

Enlargement of lymph nodes is the commonest symptom of lymphoma!. Yet lymph nodes can enlarge in many other illnesses as well!. The best way to diagnose lymphoma is through biopsy!.

My dad had lymphoma and he didnt have itchiness or any other symptoms in early stage!.

Hope it isnt lymphoma that u have, maybe just a benign lump!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Lymphoma is only one of 200 diffferent types of cancer!. No one here knows what your lump is and apparently neither does your doctor who is taking the 'Wait and See' what happens approach!. You should get a second opinion primarily because you have an unexplained painless lump!. Also for your information, if you are a young adult cancer is almost routinely misdiagnosed !. !. it is the last thing that a physician will check for !. !. and unfortunately because it is so low on their radar for young adults !. !.if this does turn out to be cancerous !. !. many weeks or months will have passed!. The 'wait and see' approach may work if you have a slow growing type of cancer !. !. !.but if it happens to be the aggressive and fast moving type by the time the doctor gets around to diagnosing it it may be at an advanced stage!. That's what no one will tell you!. Get a second opinion, it is better to be safe than sorry later!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Live_for_today,
It should be noted that one of the characteristics of most cancers is that they are mostly painless!. However, this does not indicate that your symptoms are of cancerous origin!. The biopsy will provide results that will define the cause!. In white populations, lymphoma is a more common cause of cervical lymphadenopathy than metastatic disease!. Hodgkin lymphoma - HL and, to a lesser extent, non hodgkin lymphoma - NHL are more common in whites than in African Americans or Hispanics!. Other races such as Asian/Pacific islanders or American Indians have the lowest incidence and mortality rates!. A quarter of all extranodal lymphomas occur in the head and neck, and 8% of findings on supraclavicular fine-needle aspirate biopsies yield a diagnosis of lymphoma!. Lymphoma is the second most common primary malignancy occurring in the head and neck and importantly, the incidence of aggressive non-Hodgkin lymphoma has risen steadily over recent decades!. The NHL can be further identified to be either high grade NHL or intermediate grade NHL or low grade NHL!. The most frequent group of neoplasms in the neck is the carcinomas, followed by the lymphomas!. Only 5% of all neoplasms in the neck are malignant lymphomas!. Lymphomas are neoplasms of the lymphoreticular system!. They arise from lymphocytes and their derivates!. Hodgkin
