Question for Breast Cancer Survivors?!

Question: Question for Breast Cancer Survivors!?
My sister is going into the hospital in the next few days to remove her breasts!. Any ideas of what she will need to make her more comfortable!. (I have already purchased PJs that open in the front)!.

Ideas would be greatly appreciated!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
She might find a nightdress that opens down the front also comfortable - depending on how and where the surgery is, sometimes the waistband of PJs can be constricting!.

An easy book to read - normally I hate 'picture books', but I was so tired all I wanted to do was turn the pages of a charming book a friend gave me with lots of cute pics of animals!. Didn't need any brain!

Hand cream - so at least her hands look good!.

And when she comes out, look at www!.after-cancer!.com for treats and things to help -

and she is lucky to have you!

Post surgery, your sister will have drainage containers and tubing from the incisions!. They will stay in place for a week or so!. Something comfortable and loose that the tubing can be pinned to is helpful!. I found flannel drawstring pj pants and button front loose tops to be very comfortable!. Since she is having a bilateral mastectomy, she may need help getting up from bed for a few days!. You might ask the nursing staff the best techniques to help her!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My mom had bilateral mastectomies in April and we brought her some PJs and she ended up just using the hosp gown because she was wrapped in bandages that they kept coming in and changing!.!. she did however 4 hours after surgery put on a coconut bra we didn't know she snuck in her bag!.!.!.lol!. I wish you sister all the best and a healthy recovery!. My mom unfortunately had too much breast cancer to fight and passed away May 30 from metastatic breast cancer in her liver, lungs, ribs, clavicle, femur, skull and spine!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
