Can HIV be contracted if a drop of HIV infected blood touches your tounge?!

Question: Can HIV be contracted if a drop of HIV infected blood touches your tounge!?
Answers:
HIV can be contracted through a drop of blood touching your tongue!. Microscopic skin tears, cuts, or lesions may be present on the tongue allowing the HIV virus to enter into the body!. Keep in mind that when the drop of blood touches the tongue, often it mixes with saliva and therefore dilutes and spreads to the entire mouth allowing more surface area for the blood and possible virus to come into contact with skin irregularities!.

The chances are very low!. First your saliva would dilute the blood, and more than not you would swallow it, if there was HIV in the blood the acid in your stomach would kill the virus!. IF you has an open sore in your mouth that could be a point of entry for infection, but again not very likely as the fluid would not stay in your mouth that long!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you betcha! Why do you think emergency medical personnel wear gloves when treating victims!? Even polic officers wear the disposable gloves now when dealing with injured victims, HIV/AIDS, especially the blood can go right through the pores of your skin and infect that person with this disease, so what do you think about the human tongue!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, although I have to wonder how just one drop of blood got on your tongue!. Since that seems unlikely I'm just going to answer this as an academic question!.

Yes, you could contract the virus that way!. The small amount of blood would make it unlikely but certainly not risk free!. The mouth can have cuts and abrasions without you even knowing it!. Cuts on the tongue are quite common due to various things, such as stress and vitamin deficiency's!.

Hope that helps!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, unless you have an open cut in your mouth!.

Its hard to get HIV from one drop of blood touching you! You need a high concentration to get it! Most people think no matter what you will get it if you get HIV+ blood in your cut, but the chances are low if its less then one drop!

With that being said, there is always a slight possibility that you could contract it!.!.!.

Edit: It seems someone is "down vote happy"!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, i dont think so!. You need the blood to get into your veins!. You need to have an open wound to let blood from a HIV sufferer in that would infect!. I hope this doesnt affect u though!. It happened with a friend of mine (with the tongue) and he wasn't infected!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
