It can seem like an unendingcycle can't it, as soon as one is cured the other picks it back up!. It could be a number of things outside cooking and cleaning (if your sure your cleaning bathrooms and disinfecting everything from the toilet to door handles all over the house)!. Firstly, as you said, your older children might be bringing it in but that is not hugely likely as their immune systems should be able to handle diarrhoea at their age (assume they are in their teens!?)!.

Secondly, you do not mention if your kids are in playschool/kinder garden these places are a haven for diarrhoea inducing germs!.

Thirdly, do your kids play with other kids (neighbours etc!.) regularly!?Another potential source!.

Overall, if you manage to pinpoint the source, you still need to break the cycle in the house!. This will require a few weeks of above and beyond cleaning and disinfecting, and you must pay particular attention to cleaning the kid's hands several times a day, particularly before meals (and when i say clean, i mean hot water and soap for thirty seconds), as well as adequate and prompt disposal of diapers etc!.

Once you break this cycle, just continue you on trying to get the kids into habit of hand washing and not putting their fingers in their mouths, and talk to your doctor about possibly giving them probiotics (found in special yogurts/drinks and may possibly boost the healthy bacteria in the gut)!.

My little boy, when attending his first nursery at 3yrs, was regularly getting a stomach bug!. I investigated, as his hygiene is very good at home!. It turned out that the nursery were not keeping clean toilets!. I transferred him to a better nursery and his stomach troubles stopped!. Remind your old children to keep up their hygiene routine while at school, with so many children using the toilet facilities, the general hygiene might be less than good!.

I also found that too much milk gave my son diarrhoea, so maybe your little ones could be allergic to a certain food or drink!.

I think you are doing all the right things!. This problem is coming from outside the household!.

Sounds like a mild stomach flu going through your house!.

Make sure that they are staying hydrated!. Gatorade will help!.!.!. though if they are younger than 8 you should dilute it with 50% water!.

Also, while they have it keep them off of dairy products as they will dehydrate them further!.

If it lasts more than 2 days with your children, you should take them to the doctor!.

!.!.!. Children 3 and under should use Pedialite!. And with your infant she/he should see the doctor!.
4 times a day is enough for them to need hydrating!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

more than likely the bug is coming home from school!. teach your children to wash their hands properly every time they go to the toilet and before they eat as well as regularly throughout the day!. discourage your children from sharing food with their friends!.
these are just a couple of preventative ideas, hope it helps!.
best of luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
