She is more likely to die from her cancerous tumor than from chemotherapy!. Chemo is toxic but through human clinical trials they know the dosage to give patients to try and kill the cancer while keeping the patient alive!. Determining safety is one of the main purposes for having human clinical trials!. What kills is not the chemotherapy !. !. but when the chemotherapy fails to stop the progression of the disease the patient can die!.

Her son needs to readjust his thinking !. !. with chemotherapy his mother at least has a chance of surviving her disease !. !. without chemotherapy she will not have any chance and the cancer will kill her!.

This does remain an individuals decision though !. !. much really depends on the stage of the cancer, location of tumor, age of the patient, overall health, and her response to treatment !. !. still if chemo is being recommended it may be her only chance!. Cancer treatment is difficult and there are no guarantees!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is possible!. But the cancer is promised to kill her!.

With treatment she has a chance of living!. Without, she does not!.

If SHE doesnt want to pursue treatment, that is her choice and all you can do is support her!. But if she DOES want treatment and her son is talking her out of it, you need to support her there as well!. Her medical care should be her choice (assuming she is able to make those decisions herself)!.

You (or the son rather) should know that the end will be just as bad either way!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, if your body is too weak to take it - especially in very sick people or in older people it can!. He is being a good son worrying about her, plus maybe he's worried that she is so old (not that she's 90 or anything) and her quality of life on chemo would be much worse!. Maybe he wants her to be happy for the last while of her life instead of sick and then dying anyway!. It has moved a lot, so she needs to think about these things!.
PS, are you sure it's her adenoid and not lymph node!? That seems an awfully long way to travel without it being in between somewhere!. Your adenoids are behind your tonsils in the back of your throat!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Chemotherapy can hurt patients, but "killing them" is not common!. Of course, it is no walk in the park, it does cause plenty of side effects!. Cancer, however, kills people all the time!. Like all things it is a choice!. Ultimately it is a decision best made by the patinet after discussing with a medical oncologist!.

Yes, chemotherapy has the potential to kill the patient, but seatbelts kill people every year, too!.!.!.is that a good reason not to wear one!?

Is her son an oncologist!? If he is, she should listen to him; if he isn't, you (and she) should tell him to sit down & shut up!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, it certainly can, especially at that advanced age!. Chemo totally knocks out a person's immune system, and simple infections can turn deadly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

with in therapeutic dose it has good effect to destroy the cancer cells---the side effect of chemotherapy and general debilitating condition of the health and loss immunity all put to gather ---gives rise to ending resultWww@Answer-Health@Com
