How do you tell a parent their child has herpes, and support the child?!

Question: How do you tell a parent their child has herpes, and support the child!?
My next door neighbor has a 12 year old girl who I believe has herpes!. The poor girl comes to me with an outbreak begging me to do her make-up to cover it up on her mouth!. Her mother says they are "childhood fever blisters" The daughter tells me when she gets stressed she gets them!. Is this likely with herpes!? And how do I approach the subject with her mom, I'd like to help her out!.
Also, I try to cover them for her with the cosmetics she brings me but it doesnt work well, is there something on the market I can get her!? I know she suffers and gets teased at school, and im heartbroken for her!. Also what exactly is a "childhood fever blister"!? Is her mother right!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
"stress blisters", "child hood blisters", "cold sores" are all the same thing as oral herpes!. Many people just don't want to admit it or are in denial about what cold sores really are!. I like to think they are nicer names for them!.
They do tend to break out during stressful times or from too much exposure to sunlight or extreme temperatures!. She may only have one or two out breaks when she is young, then her immune system would get stronger and could force them into dormancy!. Or she could have regular out breaks through her life!.
Make up could make cold sores worse!. Maybe wait until they heal up a little before you apply any make up to them!. You are putting it on practically an open wound!.
The best way to go is to buy her some Abreva or Lipactin (the latter is cheaper and clear) on the cold sores and keep them clean and dry as possible!. Some times you can still see them through the make up!. I have tried to cover my cold sores many times!.
As for her bringing it up!.!.!.I think her mother should do that when she gets older!. She is all ready getting teased, she doesn't need to be traumatized any further!.
I get cold sores too 80-90 percent of the population has them so they are kind of common to have!. Most people get oral herpes as a child by being kissed by Auntie, or Uncle or Granny who had an out break of cold sores or "childhood blisters"Www@Answer-Health@Com

Fever blisters/ cold sores are an oral form of herpes!. Try on OTC product called abreva or lipactin!. Abreva works better and should be used at the first sign of a cold sore(tingling etc,)and use about 4 times a day during the outbreak!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes she has herpes but it is not an STD, the type of herpes she has 80% of the population has and is not uncommon in children at allWww@Answer-Health@Com

sounds like Herpes simplex, it's a viral disease not an STD!.

Oral herpes is what is known as 'childhood fever blisters' or 'cold sores'!. These are just old names for an outbreak of oral herpes!. They are extremely common, at least 60% of kids get them/have oral herpes!. Just some get more outbreaks than others!.

Her mother is doing the right thing by telling her they are fever blisters, rather than traumatising her at that age by calling it herpes!. I am sure she gets enough teasing for them at school already!. They are common and not a big deal though!.

OTC, I believe abreva is good, or zovirax!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
