Generally unless you have traveled out of the country recently you would not have been exposed to TB!. The only definitive determination of TB would be a chest x-ray!.
Sounds to me like you may have bronchitis which if left untreated can turn into pnuemonia!.
If you've been sick for a week already I wouldn't wait another week to see a doctor!. Call and get an appointment sooner!. Sounds like you need an antibiotic!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I just got over pneumonia!. I couldn't breath but for short gasps due to pain!. No coughing!. Had to sleep fitfully in a recliner rocker as couldn't lay down!. Saw the doc the next day and got a big yellow shot!?) in the arm and a card of pills-azithromycin- was up and breathing again in 2 days!. So you don't sound like pneumonia!. You sound like flu!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like mononucleosis, which is quite common among students!. Glad to read you have a doctor's appt!. Try to move it up sooner than Monday!. Tell them it's an 'urgent visit!.' Do your folks know how you're feeling!?

Sounds like the flu to me!. Treat the symptoms, drink plenty of fluids and get lots of rest and in time you'll feel better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm sure it's neither - more likely an aggressive strain of the common cold!. Make your doctors appointment sooner and in the meantime keep up your fluid intake and take regular paracetemolWww@Answer-Health@Com

Do most TB patients have symptoms, and what are tuberculosis symptoms!?

"That's what we think, that most people eventually have some kind of symptom," says Hamilton!.

When people get sick with tuberculosis, their symptoms may include fever, night sweats, cough, appetite loss, weight loss, bloody phlegm, and loss of energy!.

here is a little something about pneumonia, also from webmd!.com:

What causes pneumonia!?
Germs called bacteria or viruses usually cause pneumonia!.

Pneumonia usually starts when you breathe the germs into your lungs!. You may be more likely to get the disease after having a cold or the flu!. These illnesses make it hard for your lungs to fight infection, so it is easier to get pneumonia!. Having a long-term, or chronic, disease like asthma, heart disease, cancer, or diabetes also makes you more likely to get pneumonia!.

What are the symptoms!?
Symptoms of pneumonia caused by bacteria usually come on quickly!. They may include:

Cough!. You will likely cough up mucus (sputum) from your lungs!. Mucus may be rusty or green or tinged with blood!.
Fever!.
Fast breathing and feeling short of breath!.
Shaking and "teeth-chattering" chills!. You may have this only one time or many times!.
Chest pain that often feels worse when you cough or breathe in!.
Fast heartbeat!.
Feeling very tired or feeling very weak!.
Nausea and vomiting!.
Diarrhea!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

You sound like you have the flu!. Drink lots of fluids!. Also, if you can't seem to get better by the end of this week, go to a Patient First or Prompt Care facility in your town!. They will be able to diagnose you a little bit better than everyone here!.

Doesn't sound like TB since you aren't coughing up blood!. It is the beginning of flu season, so you might have caught the sickness early!.

I've had mono before and it doesn't sound like it's what you have!. Mono leaves you extremely tired!. I was sleeping 14-16 hours a day and hardly could keep awake during the other 10-8 hours!. I was having issues keeping food down as well, so I switched to an all liquid diet!. I drank a lot of V8 fruit juices to keep some vitamins in my system!.

My advice, just drink lots and lots of fluids!. Chose drinks like all natural fruit juices and sports drinks!. It will give you the simple sugars to get through the day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
