Question: How do I get rid of a stye!?
How do I get rid of my stye!. I've had it for almost 3 months now!. Does a cats tail really work, does rubbing your eye with a gold ring work, and does a warm compress work!. I tried a whole lot of remedies!. I have stye ointment and its helping me a little, i don't scratch as much!. My stye got smaller but I don't know if I should squeeze it or just pop it!. What really works, a stye is just suppose to last for a week but its a lot longer than a week!. Do I have to go to a doctor!. Why is it still on my eye lid!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
These are typically infections with the bacterium Staph Aureus in a hair follicle on your eyelash!. These are akin to boils and have been walled off from the rest of your skin to contain the infection!. Sometimes if you press a mildly hot cloth against them you can burst them!. Unfortunately if you get it wrong you might end up bursting the walled away part (cyst) and it will burst inwards rather than outwards causing bigger inflammation!. An OTC ointment!.!.brolene or golden eye might be worth a try instead or you could go to your dr!. and see can he lance it!. I'm not sure antibiotics will work as the cystic wall around the stye tends to stop antibiotics getting close to the infection:(Www@Answer-Health@Com

Use a warm towel and lather up tearless baby shampoo on it!. Clean the stye 3 times a day!. It will disappear soon after!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A stye is actually caused by bacteria, an infection, often a staph infection, and you may need antibiotics to treat it, but sometimes it will go away on its own!. Soften the stye by applying a hot, moist compress several times a day for at least 10 minutes at a time!.

As strange as this may sound, steep a couple of tea bags (real tea, not green tea or herbal tea), and place the moist tea bags on your eyes!. The tannic acid in the tea is soothing and will make you feel better and help with the swelling!. Wash your hands very often and be careful when cleaning and treated the affected eye to not spread the infection to your other eye!.

Whenever you are treating a stye, be very careful and resist the urge to pop or squeeze it! Do not rub your eyes because you can easily spread the infection to your other eye - that is unless you want a matching set!. If your stye does not go away within a week see your doctor about getting antibiotics!.
