I have read that a person can be a carrier of staph or strep bacteria,or any virus!.would a person be able to tell if they are indeed a Carrier and prevent unknowingly spreading germs!? Any Dr or Nurses are welcome to answerWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
This condition is called becoming "Colonized", where the host has adapted to the disease and shows no outward symptoms!. Happens a lot in nursing homes with MRSA (staph)!.

Only testing would show the person in this condition!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

staph and strep are normal surface flora of the skin!.
it is not important to tell who is carrying them - ALL people carry strep species, and 30% carry staph!. We do not need to test people to determine this, because they do not need treatment!. Only people that have active infections need treatment!.

When a person gets a staph or strep infection, it is not because they "caught" the germ from someone else - it is because their own germ , previously living ON the skin, has now invaded the body -- it is now IN the skin!.

Again, don't pay any attention to people carrying the germ - only to those suffering from active infection!. All Drs and nurses carefully wash their hands after patient contact to avoid transmission of germs between patients!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sorry I'm not a Dr or nurse, but I am a health major!.!. Staph is a bacteria that lives on everyone's outer skin!. There are some people that are immune to the diseases that it causes, but I wouldn't worry too much!. It seems rare!. I would just worry if you were in the hospital, like the previous answer!. Most staph infections of mrsa happen in the hospital or with dirty tattoo needles!.!. as for the strep, i 'm not sure!.!.the only disease of strep bacteria i remember were strep throat!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I honestly believe, that if you have a concern about it, you should go to a doctor and get a blood test!. They can tell you within 24 hours if you are a carrier to something!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
