Question: Is my boyfriends ear infected due to stretching!?
My boyfriend recently stretched his ear piercing from 6mm to 8mm wide!.
Now - two days on - it is red, very swollen and painful to touch!.
Is it infected!?
Is there anything he can do to sort it out without having to remove the stretcher!? At the moment he is regularly rinsing it with salt water!.

In order for it to be an infection, which it sounds like it could be, you have to have a break in the skin to let the infection in!. The other possibility is that the stretcher has caused damage and it is swelling from that!.
Either way, it sounds like you'll have to take out the stretcher to take a look and likely clean it!. You'll have to take a look at the hole to see anything!. Is there a tear on the inside!? Is it producing fluid around the stretcher!?
You should try to reduce the swelling!. Apply cold and take some Advil (sorry, can't remember how to spell the generic right now)!.
He may have to go see the doctor!. You may not be able to see the cause!.
