MRSA /Strep infection Info?!

Question: MRSA /Strep infection Info!?
I just had a friend come over to my home and he told me that he found out yesterday that he has MRSA!.!.!.had a gross boil-like thing under his arm!.!.!.

After going to a party and talking to a friend who is a nurse, i got a little freaked out!haha so i came home and disinfected everything! Changed towels, lysoled everywhere, etc!.!.!.

Six yrs ago (when i was 12/13) I was placed in the hospital because my blood cell counts were wacky (i went to the er because of a "pulled hip")
I ended up having a Strep Infection (cannot remember if it was A or B) but the infection got into my blood stream and settled in my hip!.!.!.they had to do surgery to drain it, almost had to replace it!.!.!.alot of antibiotics etc!. I was extremely ill and almost died, i guess i was one of only two people in Texas who had this infection at that time!.!.!.

Anyway its a bit blurry but i was told if i got the infection in my bloodstream again i would not have a very good chance against it!.!.!.so my question
A) If i were to get MRSA, would it be worse for me than normal!?
B) I heard that if you get a virus it stays with you forever!.!.!.so MRSA is a virus!?

Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
MRSA stands for methcillin resistant staph aureus, which is a bacteria!. It used to be a hospital aquired infection, but recently has become widespread in communities!. It is a bad "bug" because it does not respond to treatment with some antibiotics!.

Any kind of staph infection in the blood is dangerous, as is a strep infection!. It sounds like you probably had an infection caused by a different organism from your description!. I am not downplaying the fact that MRSA is contagious and can cause some serious infections!. Certainly, you need to be aware of signs and symptoms of infection!. It might be wise to talk to your doctor about the cause of your last illness, and how you can safeguard yourself against another one!. Also, go online and read more about MRSA!. Forewarned is forearmed!Www@Answer-Health@Com

No!.!.!.MRSA stands for methicillin-resistant Staphlococcus aureus!. S!. aureus is a bacteria, and MRSA means the S!. aureus is resistant to beta-lactam antibiotics including methicillin, penicillin, etc!. This makes it harder to treat!. however it can be treated with vancomycin provided the bacteria is not resistant to vancomycin as well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
