How do you know if you are allergic to bee stings?!

Question: How do you know if you are allergic to bee stings!?
Do you always swell around the sting even if you are not allergic!? My husband has been stung like 5 times on separate occasions!. He says it usually swells around the sting just a little!. Yesterday's sting on the head swelled, what looked like, around the path of veins near his temple!. Not a large swell, but just enough for him to feel it and for me to notice if I study it!. I've been stung twice and don't recall swelling!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Your husband sounds normal!. Swelling is normal!. The swelling may be worse on successive stings because the body 'recognizes' the bee venom!.

Allergy ranges from mild to severe!. Severe bee sting allergy is a 911 emergency situation!. The swelling includes and anaphylactic reaction meaning the air passages swell up!. If a person starting wheezing or have difficulty breathing don't "wait and see" call 911 immediately!.

My son has a mild bee allergy!. He gets hives, and there is slight swelling all over, including his face when he was stung at his ankle!. His doctor prescribed an Epi-Pen just in case his allergy becomes more severe!. We have lots of bees around here, I've been stung 3x this year!. I'm not allergic, but I did develop an infection, called cellulitis, as a result of one sting!. Be sure to treat with antibiotic ointment like neosporin!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

People respond differently!. For some people, bee stings can actually be fatal!. It's the same with wasps and yellow-jackets!.

If the bee stinger gets stuck under your skin, there is a topical ointment you can buy, which your grandmother would call "drawing salve!." The pharmacist calls it "icthamol!." It's extracted from sulphur oil shale (and smells like that's where it came from, too!), and it's very good for helping remove things like splinters or even bits of glass that get under your skin and also draws out the inflamation!. Ususally, you have to call in and ask the pharmacist to order it, but it only takes a day!. You can buy it online, too!. You don't need a prescription!. I always keep some on hand, because my kids spend a lot of time in the woods!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

UMM, Well your body doesn't stay at a normal existence!.
Maybe you swell, yeah!.
Or have red rashes!.
It's all different!.
But you need to go get it taken care of!.
Some bee stings can cause illness or death!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

if you have to go to the hospital when you get stung then youre probably allergicWww@Answer-Health@Com

Dont worry your husbands not allergic, his body just reacts differently than yours to the bee stings!. If you were allergic you would have trouble breathing becuase your throat will close up and if your not treated with an epi pen you can die!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
