how long do you normally have to wait on the waiting list to have your tonsils removed!?

Hi,
This will vary from (nhs) trust to trust!. If you contact the doctor (ent surgeon) who put you on the waiting list they (or their secretary) will tell you how long roughly you will wait at that hospital!.
They will have prioritised you also!. factors they will consider will include your age (paediatrics have a different waiting list to adults), the impact your tonsillitis is having on your life and various other factors!.
While waiting for the operation try to eat a healthy diet, check your weight, if you are a smoker try to stop or cut back as this can increase the risk or post operative bleeding an infection!.
Otherwise sit tight and try not to worry, the operation really isnt so bad and providing you follow your doctors advice you shouldnt have any problems!!
