Why does Type 2 diabetes weaken the immune system?!

Question:

Why does Type 2 diabetes weaken the immune system?

I know that it DOES weaken the immune system, but I don't know how this happens exactly.

Answers:

It really doesn't weaken the immune system. The immune system even when it is strong is not able to overcome parasites, funguses and bacterias in a high-sugar environment.

Think of hunters. If there are lots of deers (germs), hunters(immune system) can kill some. But if the deers (germs) are over populated because of the abundance of food, no matter how strong of a weapon the hunter has, he cannot kill them all. There comes a point when the overpopulation simply cannot be controlled by the hunters.

That's what happens in DM. The germs get so thick because of the massive food supply (sugar) your immune system simply cannot kill them all. That's why diabetics have such problems with yeast growth and bacterial infections and even parasites.
