Yea my little 8 yr old cousin just had that!. Your lymph nodes are glands in your body, there is some behind your knees, in your neck, armpits and groin area!. They can get infected and swollen!. You have to be on antiobiotics for it also!. That is all it is!. It is not contagious, although it can be a little gross!. Sometimes they have to be drained!. Kinda gross and personal but I had one in the groin area, I was 14 years old christmas day, couldnt even walk!. It was the size of a baseball, and I let it go so long without medical care, it was absessed!. Cut and drained, I had to leave a drain in it for 3 days!. yuck, yes!. but thats what it is!. (you can get it in any lymph node)

Hopefully that helped and didnt gross ya out! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Lymph nodes are places in the body where fluids floating around in your cells collect and are dumped into the blood!. They frequently become a battlegournd between your white blood cells and the infection!. That's why they get so swollen because the WBC's rush there, fight the infection and then die ie: pus!.

Ever heard of swollen glands, or mumps!? THat's actually in infection of the lymph noes!. Very common and in serious cases there can be severe swelling!. Depending on the cause of the infection the person can be contageous (ie: mumps)!.

Because your lymph nodes are deep under the skin and do not break!. If you see broken skin it's probably some other type of infection like Acne!. !.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it's not a disease!.
its just your body responding to a cold or an infection or virus!.
everyone who has had a fever/cold has had swollen lymphatic nodes!.
they are located under the jaw area at the neck, near the groin area, and the underarm area!.
it's not a disease!.
everyone probably has it happened to them already anyways
it's not a big deal!.
even you!.

EDIT**** sorry i thought you said swollen lymph nodes!.
infected lymph nodes is just an infection i dont think its contagious
it happens where you're sickWww@Answer-Health@Com

a lymph node infection does not show!. She probally is just embarrassed of what she really has!. The lymph nodes usually get infected when fighting off a disease or some type of infection!. They swell up and cause your throat to hurt!. You might want to stay back in case it is contagious!. lol Www@Answer-Health@Com

Actually, that is acne; otherwise it might be insect bites or unfortunately lice and bed bugs, infected!.

Definitely not lymph nodes!. Give the poor girl a break, because there are also things lile seborrhea that can not be helped, or spread!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it is not infectious at all!.!.!.swollen lymph nodes are an indicator that the body is fighting another infection!. one of my best friends has this problem too when she gets sick!. lymph nodes can be found on the neck, under the arms and i think on the sides of your lower stomach!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Who told you it was a lymph node!? If it is an infection and her lymph nodes have merely swollen as a result, the underlying infection may or may not be infectious!. It could also be a form of lymphoma, (not likely) which is cancerous!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
