Anyone know about underactive thyroid pills?!

Question: Anyone know about underactive thyroid pills!?
Its probably daft asking at this time cos anyone taking them will be asleep by now, but I've been on them a few years (thyroxine) I ran out last week so didn't take any for a wholeweek and started to feel much better,I wasn't so hungry all the time, and I slept loads better at night, do they make oyu hungry cos I suppose they speed your metabolism up so would that make you hungry!? I got my prescripton couple of days ago, and I'm starving now even though I've already ate my dinner!. I just felt so much more (with it) when I didn't take them!. Anyway Ii know this isn't really a question but does anyone know much about thyroid disorders, my doctor said I've got the worst case he's ever seen, and I'm really over weight so especially if anyone knows what I can do to loose weight!? I am afraid if you need levothyroxine there are really no alternatives!. I assume you doctors checks your blood regularly to confirm that your dose is correct!.

As far as losing weight is concerned all you can do is the same as the rest of us, diet+exercise!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've been taking 100mcgrams of thyroxine for about 7 years for an underactive thryoid!.I've been diabetic for 22 years & was experiencing a lot of hypos(low sugar levels),so they decided to test my thyroid,i was told that its very common for diabetics to have another major gland that doesnt work properly, being honest i've never felt any different taking the pills & i get my thyroid levels checked regularly, also been told never to stop taking pills without consulting a doctor,so take care & watch what you're doing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Dont stop taking them!! my mum did that, and her hair started falling out, the effects of stopping them came a few months after actually stoping them!. her hair came out in clumps, and the doctor told her it was because she stopped taking the tablets!.

i dont think i can advise on how to loose wright though!. sorry!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You have what is referred to as hypothyroidism!. Lots of people have thyroid issues, and can't quite figure out why he told you that you have the worse case he has ever seen!?! It isn't a good idea to stop taking your medication, as you may undergo a crash!. Your doc started you on the thyroxine because your TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) was high and the thyroid just wasn't kicking in, thus, under-active thyroid!. Might also want to ask the doc to explaint to you why you felt better for the one week you were off the medication!. best wishes!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't listen to Dr Frank he will only keep you unwell, he is ignorant about natural very, very succsessful treatments!. He makes me so angry with his ignorance and ill informed advice!.

Dont worry you can feel better without that synethic chemicals!. But it is important to take some thing as your metabolic rate will be low and this can lead to heart problems!.

First off all if you are in the UK, 99% of doctors do not know how to treat thyroid disease!. They only know about Thyroxine which is a synthetic CHEMICAL and should not be in your body!. It has many side affects, some (few) dont feel unwell on thyroxine as you may well find in a couple of months!.!.!.weight gain, extreme fatigue, frequent bowel movements, puffy eyes and dry skin, and many others!.

In the long term it leads to osteoporosis!. In time you will experience these side affects, so please keep the information that I am about to tell you as you WILL need it!. You can treat your thyroid by natural medication with NO side affects!. The medication is called Armour Thyroid and is derived from pig
