About sex -- this is very serious?!

Question:

About sex -- this is very serious?

When should a couple seek councelling or a doctor's oppinion regarding lack of sex? This is not only the lack of sex but also the lack of showing care and understanding. Believe me my mate (seems to) love me very much but seems to be having problems with getting an erection. Not in the morning but noon or night. He had a hernia operation last March, a nasal survery (for exstreeeim nasal conjestion) last fall and also had a "loss of vision problem" which reduced him to 'low vision'-- I know this fellow has been going threw hell -- but why bite the hand that feeds you?

Answers:

Sounds like in your case it could be medical, rather than psychological. I'd speak to a doctor first (either him alone or the both of you) and see what they think. The lack of showing care and understanding is, well, understandable given what you say he's been through. I think it'd probably put most people in a bit of a bad mood, if not some form of mild depression.

Like I said, check with his doctor first and see if it's anything medical. It could be from a medication he's on or one of his medical conditions effecting his desire for sex. If they give no indication that there's any reason for him not being interested in sex then you might want to seek counseling at that point.

Good luck to both of you!
