Question: Autism !?!!?! any ideas !?
i have recently been working at a nursery for work experience and there was a 3 or 4 year old autistic boy there!.
i always thought that people with that autism didnt like to be touched but he came and tried to sit on my knee, i helped him up and he seemed really happy!.
im a 15 year old girl if that helps :)

Some children with autism can be over tactile and others like my son do not really like to be touched and wouldn't sit on any ones lap, so yes it can mean he does trust you or he likes the way you are, if your very softly spoken children whom have autism find it comforting and easy to be relaxed around !.!.well done you !Www@Answer-Health@Com
As Frayed_Jay states above, everyone who has autism is different!. Autism is on a very large spectrum ranging from people with profound autism who cannot speak or dress themselves to the other end of the spectrum with people who have high functioning autism who are some times very intelligent and can appear just like everyone else!. All children who have autism like to do things on their own terms!. Some times they will be overly affectionate and other times they will love their own space!. Just like the rest of us they are all different and depending on how they feel they will interact with poeple as much or as little as they want to!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
No one with autism ticks all the text book boxes - my son has autism and gives me loads of affection, cuddles and kisses me!.
They have strengths and weaknesses in all areas just like everyone else!. Some hate being touched some dont mind, if you read a book on autism it just highlights some things that could apply, but everyone is different and the autism is only part of a person who is just like the rest of us!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

there are different degrees of autism my son has it some don't like contact and some like my son will go with any one they just do not know any danger at all !. some can read some cant they are always into only the one thing with my son its halo from the x box and you cant get him to do anything else at all!. most of the time they can not dress them selves or go to the toilet on their own some can some cant my son can not read right or dress himself and waves his head round just like Stevie wonder they are ether very loud or very Quiet some can not Speak either!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's a great sign that he likes you, but my advice would be don't be offended if he doesn't always react that way and be careful of him becoming overly attached to you if you will only be in his life for a short while!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it could, but then again not all autistic people are the same, alto don't like to be touched, but some do, and there are many different forms of autism, but if he seams happy then u are probably doing a good job with him!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It would seem that he has a bond with you!. My son has Aspergers and at that age it would have been his idea of hell to sit on even his mums knee!Www@Answer-Health@Com
