Answers:
Yes!. It is very important that you not only INJECT but EAT on a rather tightly controlled schedule -- not more than one hour different from day to day!.

Many diabetics take two kinds of insulin -- long-acting (basal) and short-acting (bolus)!.

it is very important that the BASAL insulin be taken at the same time every day -- within minutes, if possible!. And since you have the insulin in your system, you must NOT forget to eat!

The BOLUS insulin is take about 15 minutes before you eat!. if you mealtime is off by a 1/2 hour or so, that is OK, but take the bolus insulin 15 minutes before you eat!.

BUT DON'T FORGET TO EAT! if you do not, you will not have enough sugar in your system, and you might pass out from the hypoglycemic effect!.

You're right -- it is EXTREMELY important to keep yo sugars NORMAL!. Don't use the insulin as a "cure" when the sugar is high -- you've already done the damage to you nerves, kidneys, capillaries, eyes, etc!.!. Use the insulin to PREVENT the sugar from getting high-- that's why you take it 15 minutes before the meal!.

And you should be taking an A1C test every 3 months to see how well you're doing!.

Ih!! Have you bothered to read the papers that come with your insulin vials!? You really should make an effort to read them!.

Yes, the basal insulin should be injected at the exact same hour every day!. Then depending on what your doctor says, you should adjust your fast acting or instant acting insulin according to how many grams of carb you are eating!.

The least insulin to keep within a very narrow frame of numbers will help you to not gain weight!. That means eating a very low carb count meal plan and injecting accordingly!.

I always inject my basal at 6 am, then take the instant acting insulin after my meals!. It keeps me in a good level framework!. I strive to stay in the 100 to 125 range at all times!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Same with insulin!. You take too much of it at one time you'll overdoze!. Common sense!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
