Red meats contain haem iron!. Vegetables contain non-haem iron!.

Take up of non-haem iron is increased by eating it with haem iron foods!.

Take up of haem and non-haem iron is increased by having vitamin C in the same meal; e!.g!. small drink of orange juice, tomatoes!.

Iron take up can be decreased by caffeine, I think it is!. I know that I stopped drinking much tea because I seem to struggle with iron intake!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

discuss that with your Dr, treatment would depend on the degree of anemia you have!. sometimes it requires iron supplements, but sometimes it is mild enough that dietary adjustments can take care of it!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
