Question: Does Benadryl help fight infections that are not sinus or allergy related!?
I got a bump on my outer thigh, which I assume is a big pimple!. I tried to squeeze it to pop it and some stuff did come out, but not much at all!. This was a few days ago!. It's still there, and it hurts like hell, even just to touch, and it's really red!. So, I'm guessing it's infected!. I really don't want to go to the E!.R!. Would Benadryl fight this kind of infection!? If not, is there any over the counter meds that would!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

You need oral antibiotics at this point, and only a doctor can prescribe them to you!. You should act now before this gets any worse!. There is a chance you may need subcutaneous antibiotics (a shot) initially!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
it wont take the infection away but its a anti histamine, so it will help with the swelling and general pain/redness!. cleaning it out with hydrogen peroxide or De natured alcohol should help alot also!. but you should always take the time to monitor it!. if it gets worse i'd suggest taking a trip to a clinic or your local doctor!.
Also the more you mess with the wound the more it'l swell and that'll increase the pressure around the area, and that will make it hurt more so leave it alone for the most part!.

No benadryl will not help with the infection!. You might want to try something like neosporin ointment for it, not sure if that will help!. Or you gave use some peroxide!. But no the benadryl doesn't fight infections!. If I gets worse I would contact a doctor!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
