Should glimepride be taken before meals or after meals. which is more effective?!

Definately before!. Oral meds take a little time to start working and you want to get a head start on that immediate spike that type 2's get after they eat!. I'd take it as much as 30 minutes before, unless you feel yourself getting hypo!. You have to gauge it for yourself!. Take your blood sugars prior, 1 hour after and 2 hours after and see what your blood sugar does!. That's the best way to regulate yourself on a new med!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Glimerperide is taken to stimulate your pancreas into producing more insulin and /or releasing more insulin, it is a generic name for Amayrl and claims that it should be taken with meals (!?)!.!.!.!.!.Does that mean before the meal!? during the meal or after the meal!?!.

I really don't think it really matters that much but we all have our own idiosyncrasy's when it comes to issues like this!.

I try to take it about 15 minutes prior to the meal, my way of thinking is that I want the active ingredients in it to be well distributed throughout my system to meet the food head on so it's prepared to do it's work!.

Most people I know taking this med are told by the Endos to take it about 15 minutes before eating!.
