My sister has a cold- how do I stay healthy?!

Question: My sister has a cold- how do I stay healthy!?
I mean besides the obvious things- vitamins, rest, hand washing!.!.!.

Whenever someone in my house gets ill I tend to go really overboard (won't leave my room except to go to the bathroom, when a mask, boil plates before I use them etc!.) and then get really fed up after a few days and stop!.

Anyway what's the right amount of cleaning and carefullness to remain healthy!?
My sister won't cooperate with me- I'm not trying to be mean- I mean she won't wash her hands as often as I'd like her too (not blaming her- just stating it!.)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Lysol is your friend!. Make sure to regularly spray down doorknobs, faucets, and any other surface the contaminated person has been in contact with!. Do not handle discarded tissues!. Do not share anything the person has been in contact with, including all cups, dishes, and utensils, until they have been properly sterilized!. Maintain a distance of at least 10 feet from the person at all times!. Airborne pathogens can enter your body through cuts in your skin or through your eyes, ears, nose, and mouth!. Try to not touch your eyes if possible as you could introduce the virus in that way!. Contamination can occur one to two days prior to visible symptoms in the contaminated person, and continue to be a possibility a few days after the onset of symptoms!. Once the contaminated person has had no fever for 24 hours, the risk of contamination declines significantly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
