In case I spelled it wrong it is pronounced like the word fly. Something you get on your eye

From what I understand (or have been told) a stye is either an infected tear duct or an ingrown eyelash. I used to buy a tiny little tube of stuff called "STYE" it's an ointment you squeeze into your eye, but then this girl told me that when I showered and washed my face, to let a little soap get into my eye and then rinse it really well.
I've done that for styes ever since (this was about 15 years ago) and it always works. Sounds weird, yes, but it does work!!
