Answers:
Yes your heart rate can be too low but your's seem fine!. It's in the normal range!. Since you play basketball and are active both your pulse and blood pressure will be lower than most people since you are in better shape!. I'm an emt so I take a lot of pulses!. If it gets lower than 40 then you should be looking for a doctors appointment!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There is such a thing as your heart rate being too low, but based on the fact that you are an athlete, you really shouldn't worry!. A normal heart rate for you is anywhere between 60-100!. Athletes tend to have lower resting heart rates, like you described!. When you exercise/move around your heart rate naturally goes up too, so even if you are a little above 100 at times, you are still fine!. No worries!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A resting heart rate of 57 is within normal range!. 60-100!. Leave heart rate alone!. I recommend taking blood pressure at rest!. If diastolic, lower number is below 60, then I would be concerned!. But your pulse rate is Ok!. As for living in Alaska, maybe you are burning more energy to stay warm, or may have more stresses which increase heart rate!. Regardless, you are within normal range!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You said you play basketball, how often do you play!? Are you an athlete in your school!?

Some players experience bradycardia due to the increase resistance of their circulatory system!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's too slow if you faint from it!. Otherwise it's OK!. Bjorn Borg, a famous tennis player from a few years back, was famous for his heart rate in the 30's, which would get most people a pacemaker but in his case was just a sign of being in superb condition!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
