TB test question, please help?!

Question: TB test question, please help!?
I got a tb test today!. the nurse put a piece of gauze over the injection site after the test was over (attached to arm with medical tape)!. at the time i didn't know why she didn't use a bandaid, but then i read online that this could change the results!.
the nurse didn't say anything about taking the gauze off, all she said was don't get it wet!.
but from what i've read online, you don't seem to have to have ANYTHING on your arm, including gauze (which is falling off despite the medical tape)!. i've also read that you can in fact get your arm (including injection site) wet, as long as you pat dry your arm after!.
so i need someone to tell me if this is true!. i don't want to mess up the test, and have to retake it !.
thanks a lot!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You don't need anything to cover it!. The gauze or bandaid is just to keep any scant bleeding in check, you don't actually need those at all!. You can get the spot as wet as you want within an hour (even less) of taking the injection!. Relax, have a nice bath! Best wishes for your good health!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have never heard of any one putting gauze over a tb test and telling them not to wash there arm, unless of course she marked you're arm with ink to show where it is!. But there are things that I don't know maybe it is a new type of tb test!. I don't know, and don't worry if the test should come up positive mine is all ways positive!. I was exposed to tb but never got the disease!. So I just get a chest x-ray every year at work to make sure I don't give any of our patients tb!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Take the gauze off, no need for anything to be on it!. The nurse probably only put it there out of habit when some give injections, maybe to prevent a possible drop of blood from getting on your clothing at the injection site!.

I have had a TB test once a year for the last 8 years!. I always pull the gauze off, or the bandaid-I've had them put on too!. I've showered, gone swimming, etc!. and my test results were never altered!. You'll be fine, you can take the gauze off!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
