Question: Catching HIV in pools: Periods !!?
Okay so yeah, I am the kind of person who gets worried!.!.!.!.
I'm going on a really awesome cruise!.!.!. and I'm wondering if I can possibly catch HIV in the big pool that heaps of people are in!.!.!.
because I know a lot of people are like "My period stops in water so I don't have to wear a tampon ever" and stuff like that!.!.!. so I'm thinking someone with HIV could have theirs in the pool!?
Is it possible and how worried should I really be !! !?

no, thats virtually impossible even if HIV infected blood was poured in the pool!. for one, pools are chlorinated and for two you would have to have a big exposed cut where blood actually made direct contact with you as it was being poured in!. Most transmission occur via needle sticks or sexually where blood exchange occurs via close contact!. Blood transfusion infections can occur too but the chances are very small now days!. The HIV virus is easily killed once it's outside the body!. The chlorine in a pool would kill it instantly!. Even if you had a big, open wound the last thing you'd probably catch in a pool would be HIV!.
You shouldn't worry about this at all!. To my knowledge, nobody has ever contracted HIV from a swimming pool!. It would be impossible!.

the chemicals in the pool water destroy the virus before it can transfer to another!. btw, the other person has to ingest that person's blood, not just let it touch them

Trust me, it's a myth!. A pool cannot support that type of virus, or anything that would make you pregnant!.
The chlorine in a pool de-neutralises alot of viruses (etc!.) on contact!.
