Does a cancerous endometrium look normal?!

Question: Does a cancerous endometrium look normal!?
Hi - I recently had a hysteroscopy and D&C to investigate prolonged (very, i!.e!. 6mths) menstrual bleeding!. After the op, my gyn said everything looked normal (with no fibroids etc), but that there was a lot of tissue!. I have a very long (well 2 wks, but long to me) to wait for the results (to see if there are any cancerous cells etc) but just wondering if anyone knows if there are usually macroscopic changes if there is endometrial cancer present!?!? (i!.e!. would she have been able to tell from the hysteroscopy if i have cancer!?)
ThanksWww@Answer-Health@Com

The surgeon would only be able to tell if it was obvious and could be seen with the naked eye!. The pathologist will know if there is any cancer present!. The good news is that even if it is cancer it is not very extensive or the surgeon would be able to tell!. Two weeks is a long time to wait!. I think she gave you that as a timeline to be on the safe side!. The pathologist will look at the specimen in about 2 business days if cancer is present they will call the doctor who did the surgery and let them know their findings by phone!. It takes about a week for the report to be typed and mailed!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
