ahhh!.!.!. i had this same problem a couple of years ago!. with 7 kids to disinfect and 1 parent to disinfect!. i used the mayo treatment!. Get a jar of mayo and just go home and plop some on your sons head!.then get a shower cap and put that on after the mayo!. you can move the mayo around so it doesnt just sit there all day!. Let it sit for 12 hours!. the more the better!. The once you have let the mayo be on his head for the amount of time that you wanted take off the cap and give him a bath!. dont use just shampoo!. it might sound weird but use liquid dishwasher detergent (ex:dawn) to just clean his hair(if you havent shaved it already) or his head (if you already did shave it)!. for his stuffed animals (i figure he has some) you can put some in the freezer!. or you can throw them in a bag!. they can all be in the bag together!.and just let them sit for 2-3 weeks!. Get the spray for furniture!. and wash everything!!

hope i helped! Www@Answer-Health@Com

There are shampoo for head lice you can buy it over the counter!. its good you shave his head!. All in your family should use head lice and eventually it will go away!. Let him and all your family take a bath everyday and use the shampoo!. Dont let him go with his aunt cause definitely he will spread that lice to his aunts too!. it will just take for your family to clean up for a week!. Dont let him play outside or under the sun!. Be sure that his friends are free from lice too!. Cause he get that lice if not from your family or to some other people he used to be with!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Gee, this one has me scratchin' my head!.!.!.(sorry, bad joke!)

I'm with the first poster--sending the boy to his aunt's house will result in everyone there getting it too!. You can buy products like Nix over the counter that come with a shampoo and a spray that you can use on furniture!. Everyone's clothes and bedding need to be washed on the hot setting, and stuffed animals should be bagged up and kept somewhere like the garage or a storage shed for two weeks!. The real problem (and yeah this happened at our house) is to get the unhatched eggs out of everyone's hair--and this is HARD!. I found there was no combing them out--what I had to do was distract my kids by putting them in front of a favorite TV show, find the nits, and cut the single strand of hair to which they were attached using safety scissors (no telling when a child of that age is suddenly going to whip his or her head around)!. Someone needs to do this for you, too, if you also have it!. Shaving his head is not a bad idea, but if he really doesn't want that to happen, it's not absolutely necessary!.

You might want to keep an eye out for the source of the problem, but I'm sure you're doing that already! Also, it's a good idea to inform his day care provider or babysitter (if he has one) about the situation, so other parents don't have to go through what you're going through!. Don't worry about the stigma--only really uneducated people think that lice = dirtiness nowadays!.

By the way, if you're talking about HOME home treatments, I've heard that putting lots of mayo in the hair and covering it with a showercap for about 12 hours or so is really effective!. I'm not sure how well this would work with a two year old, though, so I'd stick with Nix or Rid--a treatment takes about 10 minutes!. At a bargain store they cost around $12 (figure about $20 if you want the spray for the furniture!.

Best of luck! Www@Answer-Health@Com
