I learned I have stage IV Cervical Cancer....will I die?!
Question: I learned I have stage IV Cervical Cancer!.!.!.!.will I die!?
I learned a few days ago that I have stage IVa cervical cancer!. My doctor gives me vague percentages (13-15% are alive after 5year!.!.!.!.), but I want to know!.!.!.am I going to die!? At what point do most die!? How long can I expect to live!? I have a 3yo and 4yo and a husband!.!.!.do I need to hurry up and fill the next couple years with a lifetime of experiences for them!? Do you know anyone who had stage IV and lived!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

In this kind of situation no one else can really tell you what to do or how you should feel, but talking about stuff - anything - helps!. And planning does too!.
The cards you've been dealt aren't great, and it sucks and I'm sorry!. No one can give you a 'how long' answer, we're all so different and unpredictable!. It pays to be realistic and make plans for your family, but there's no reason you can't be in that 15% percent!.
I've known many people to come back from death's door and many others to pass from cancers which were originally not considered as 'serious'!.
We should ALL be making the most of our time, no matter how long we have!.

Even though the doctor said you have a low chance of surviving 5 years, this may not always be the case!. Try to continue treatment to shrink the tumor or try alternative medicine such as reiki, meditation, yoga, visualization, positive affirmations etc!.
Also there is book called "You Can Heal Your Life" by Louise Hay- in it the author describes how she was diagnosed with terminal cervical cancer (like what you have) and how she cured it by using her mind- she didn't even have any operations carried out on her!
According to Hay, cancer is caused by having resentment build up inside you for several years- so try and let go of any resentment you have!. Try to read books and websites about spirituality and alternative medicine and how the mind works- you are more likely to understand and comprehend your situation more if you read these!.
In your situation, the best thing you can do is to have a positive attitude

Courtney even though the prognosis does not look good you should think of it as being one of those 15%!. You are very young and healthy so you stand way above the average in getting cured!. Once the initial shock goes away you will start getting your hopes back!. I know this because I am going through the same thing!. Please don't think of the statistics!. There are too many new drugs and doctors are not god!. Just think about your boys and don't lose hope and stay positive!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
Don't let what the Dr!. said scare you!. I've personally known people who have had cancers and been told they will only live another 6months, that was 4 years ago!. The worst thign you can do is stress out about it!.!.!.you must remain calm and deal with this news as best you can!. the more upset you get, the worse your surivial rates are! All of us die at some point!. And no one knows how much time God has given us!. You may be cured of the cancer and be killed in an auto accident!. Prepare yourself as each day were your last!.

I'm sorry!.I know you are scared!.Dr's tend to be vague on that until it gets really bad!.You are human not milk,you have no expiration date!.I don't think any two cases are the same!.Your life style will now change which can be scary too!.Do your best to stay healthy!.Live for each day!.Love your family the best you know how and never quit the fight! Oh hun my heart goes out to you truly!. I can only imagine how in shock and scared you must feel!. BUT never ever give up hope and fight this disease in every way you can!.
I am a nurse and have seen a few die but when it is very advanced and spread to other organs!. Has the doctor said to you if it has spread!? Is he proposing a complete hysterectomy!? What treatment are they offering you!. It is not always a death sentence but i understand your fear!.
As a nurse my job tends to make me live for today as who knows what tomorrow may bring SO I do spend as much time with my family as possible and we do go on nice trips abroad as I want to see as much of the world as possible!.
