How would a person know...?!

Question:

How would a person know...?

If he/she has a brain tumor? What are its signs/symptoms? How is it diagnosed?

Answers:

Many MANY different symptoms can occur. Or none can occur at all! The usual symptom is headache, which is not very helpful as a symptom, seeing as we all get them!

Though the symptoms always depend on the location of the tumour. Those that grow from the pituatary gland often compress the optic nerve resulting in vision loss or blurred vision while many other do not have many symptoms. If you are concerned about this though then go and speak to your primary care physician, its what they are there for and they will perform a few neurological tests.

An MRI or CT scan is usually used to diagnose a tumour within the brain though most of the time this finding is an unwanted one. MRIs and CTs are performed on many patients and an unwanted discovery is that of a tumour.
