Answers:
Autumn is correct!. The amount of redness is irrelevant!.
all that matters is the amount of "induration" - that means the size of the bump!.

there are different criteria used to determine exactly how many mm of induration would be considered positive - it depends on your medical history!. 10 mm is considered positive for most people, but 5 mm is positive for those people at highest risk of reactivation!.

The main point for you, though, is that there is NO job that would deny you based on your PPD skin test!. It is not a test for contagion -- having a positive test means that you have latent TB and should be treated -- it does not mean that you have active TB!. It does not mean that you are contagious and cannot work!.

Even if you were a nurse or doctor, having a positive test does not preclude you from work -- but you would have to take medication to kill the TB!. You'd be working while you took your medication!.

Nothing for you to worry about , whether the test is positive OR negative!. You're ok!. If they don't hire you , it is not because of the skin test (:-)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Redness does not count for anything!.

We are trained to read the test by touch only, as if we are blindWww@Answer-Health@Com
